Foreign Language Education as Glocal Capital: Statements of Educational Outcomes on China’s Double First-Class University Websites

چکیده

The study draws on the Bourdieusian theory of capital to examine way China’s Double First-Class (hereinafter referred as “DFC”) universities capitalize values foreign language education. Based content analysis representations officially published and accessible websites 42 DFC universities, this thesis reports a qualitative inquiry multilingual ideologies education in context increasing global status. Findings show that advertise ideal “glocal capital” providers for students construct their medium achieving vision local values. also reveal shifting paradigm from previously orienting towards West-European Anglophone languages including peripheral countries response socioeconomic transformations development. highlights emerging patterns education, which is geopolitically motivated but unequally distributed educational resources. closed with some implications enhancing cultivating quality talents markets.
